What are the age restrictions for playing in the sand?
 

  • Children 7 years old and under are welcome to play in the sandbox.

Can parents or guardians join their children in the sandbox?

​

  • Absolutely! Our play area is designed for parents to be directly involved with their child's playtime if they choose.

​

Is there an admission fee for parents?

 

  • Admission is free for up to 2 adults per family. Any additional adults can join for $5 each.

​

Are waivers required, and who needs to fill them out?

 

  • Yes, signed waivers are required. They should be filled out by the legal guardian responsible for the child playing in the sandbox. All children under 18 must have a waiver signed.

What are the rules for playing in the sandbox?

 

  • Only children 7 years old and under are allowed to play

  • A signed waiver is required before playing

  • Parents/guardians must supervise their children

  • No shoes or socks in the sandbox

  • No food, drinks, candy, or gum allowed in or around the sandbox

  • No throwing sand or burying other children

  • No running, screaming, climbing, grabbing, or wrestling

  • Toys and sand must stay inside the box

  • Only toys provided by The Sandbox are allowed in the box

  • Hands must be washed after eating

Should my child wear footwear and socks while playing in the sandbox?

 

  • No, footwear and socks are not allowed in the sandbox. If your child has special circumstances that require them to wear something on their feet, please give us a call so we can accommodate them.

Can we bring our own toys?

 

  • We ask that you do not bring your own toys because we have plenty of fun ones available for your child to play with!

Can an older sibling, relative, or friend join in on the fun if my child is under 7?

 

  • Due to space limitations and different play styles, we only allow children 7 years old and under to play in the sandbox, even if they have a younger sibling.

 

Do you clean the toys?

 

  • Yes, our staff regularly disinfects all of our toys to keep them clean and germ-free.

 

Do you sell food or drinks?

 

  • We offer locally roasted coffee, sandwiches and fresh popcorn for purchase at our front desk.

 

Can we bring our own snacks?

 

  • Yes, you can bring your own snacks, but please keep them out of the sandbox area. Full meals or food that requires plates and utensils (such as cake or ice cream) are not allowed. Also, The Sandbox cannot go in and out of the sandbox while eating snacks.

Can we drop off our kids to play?

 

  • No, all children must be supervised by an adult.

​

Do you have Wi-Fi and seating for adults?

 

  • Yes! We offer complimentary Wi-Fi and comfortable seating along the back wall outside of the sandbox area for parents who want to relax and watch their child play.

 

Is there a less busy time when I can visit with my child?

 

  • Typically, early to mid-mornings are busy, but it slows down from 1:00-4:30 PM.

 

Are pets allowed?

 

  • Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in The Sandbox.


 

How do you maintain the cleanliness of the sand in The Sandbox?

 

  • This is a great question! Keeping our sand clean is a top priority for us as we strive to provide a safe and hygienic environment for all our guests. We have implemented several measures to ensure the sand stays pristine. Firstly, we strictly enforce a no-food and no-drink policy in our sandbox areas. Secondly, we conduct daily aeration of the sand by turning it over and exposing it to maintain its fluffiness and cleanliness. Additionally, we regularly treat the sand with a safe and non-toxic cleaning solution made from vinegar to eliminate any potential bacteria. And finally, we have installed air filtration systems that continuously circulate clean air throughout the environment. Party and Event FAQ's

Party Room Capacity

 

  • Our party room is suitable for smaller to medium-sized gatherings and can comfortably fit up to 24 individuals. The space includes a countertop prep area, a refrigerator, and a private sandbox.

 

Party Duration

 

  • Birthday parties typically last for two hours.

 

Decorations

 

  • Any requests for outside decorations must be approved prior to the event. While we welcome balloons, we kindly ask that no decorations be attached to the walls.

 

Food and Drinks

 

  • Guests are more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks for their party. We remind guests that there is a prep area and refrigerator available for their use. However, we do not permit alcoholic beverages on our premises. Please note that all food and drink must be removed from the reserved area and refrigerators by the end of the scheduled party time.

 

Inclusions in Birthday Package

 

  • Our "construction-themed" birthday package includes admission for 10 children (additional children can be added at $20 per child), a private party room with its own sandbox, themed room setup, juice boxes, construction hats, and truck sticker sheets. Waiver Requirements

 

  • All children participating in the sandbox will need a signed waiver from their legal guardian. We suggest having your guests sign the waiver ahead of time through our website.

 

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

 

  • If you need to cancel your party, please refer to our cancellation policy below:

 

- No refunds will be given for parties canceled within 2 weeks of the event date.

- Parties canceled 2-6 weeks before the event date will receive a 50% refund.

- Parties canceled 6+ weeks prior to the event date will receive a full refund.

 

Inclement Weather Policy

 

  • In case of inclement weather, if a Level 2 Road Emergency is in effect on the day of your party, we will happily reschedule your event to the next preferred available date free of charge.

 

When do I need to provide the final head count for my birthday party?

 

  • Our team will reach out to you during the week of your party to finalize plans and confirm an updated head count. This helps us properly set up and prepare the party room. If your head count changes on the day of the event, simply let us know when you arrive so we can make necessary adjustments. You can add additional children up until the day of your party.

 

Can I have a small birthday celebration in the common area?

 

  • We ask that no impromptu birthday celebrations take place in the common area, and that you refrain from bringing presents or cake into the playspace unless you've booked a birthday party package. If you're interested in celebrating at The Sandbox, please check out our party package options.
